Dirty Projectors frontman David Longstreth and experimental R&B singer D∆WN (aka Dawn Richard) transcend space and time on a deserted country road in the official music video for "Cool Your Heart."

In the video, the duo cycle back and forth through different motions to a futuristic beat. The lyrics delve into the acceptance phase of Longstreth's breakup with former bandmate Amber Coffman. In an interview with Rolling Stone the frontman explained how the new material came about:

If you had asked me at the time, I felt very uncertain about where to go with music... Working as a producer, an arranger and in some cases as a writer for some other people, gave me a super different perspective. But at that same time I was doing the Kanye stuff and working on the Solange album, I would go back to the music I was making. It was probably early sketches and versions of the music that became this record.

Notably, "Cool Your Heart" was co-written with Solange Knowles and features production by Tyondai Braxton of Battles. The Brazilian-inspired beat is supplied by Mauro Refosco, touring percussionist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Dirty Projectors are set to release their seventh studio album on February 24th. Pick it up on Amazon.
