Lorde has shared a music video for her new song "Green Light," the first single from her highly anticipated sophomore album Melodrama. Watch it above, courtesy of her YouTube.
Beginning with soft piano playing and Lorde's passionate vocals, the track turns into a dance-driven anthem with a strong beat. Lorde shared a comment about the tune on her Twitter account:
I am so proud of this song. It's very different, and kinda unexpected. It's complex and funny and sad and joyous and it'll make you DANCE. It's the first chapter of a story I'm gonna tell you, the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of my life. This is where we begin.
Directed by Grant Singer, the video shows clips of Lorde singing the song in front of a bathroom mirror and while walking down a street. She also shows her wild side by dancing on what appears to be an Uber driver's truck.
Lorde, who turns 21 later this year, released the smash hit "Royals" back in 2012 on the The Love Club EP. At this time, a release date has not been scheduled for Melodrama.
