J Mascis stopped by studio 6B in Rockefeller Center last night to sit in with The Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Although he's known for his searing guitar solos and roaring riffs on Dinosaur Jr. records, the legendary guitarist was surprisingly quiet during the show, choosing to let his Fender Jazzmaster do the talking.

The video contains the entire episode, so if you just want the music, you'll have to skip around a bit. Mascis and The Roots covered "Cortez the Killer" by Neil Young & Crazy Horse at 6:20, The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" at 17:03, played Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" at 21:25, accompanied special guest Mark Wahlberg's entrance at 22:20, and then covered Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" at 36:20. See how it all went down in the video above.
