Blood Orange's Dev Hynes graces the cover of this month's FADER magazine, and in honor of it, he's made an accompanying mixtape. The nearly 70-minute-long mix contains a bunch of obscure funk, hip-hop and disco cuts from the '80s, as well as some unreleased Blood Orange songs with live vocals from Samantha Urbani, Hynes' girlfriend and frequent collaborator.

The mixtape's older songs provide great insight into Hynes' inspirations for his new album Cupid Deluxe, which is quite a retro record. The slap bass, rudimental hip-hop beats, cheesy synths and choppy disco guitar strumming of this mix all found their way onto the album. The mixtape also includes a song by grime MC (and Cupid Deluxe guest) Skepta, a phone conversation between Hynes and a friend, and Eazy-E's "Nutz on Ya Chin."
