Led Zeppelin, the English band’s 1969 self-titled debut album, made huge waves at the time and helped launch them into fast rock n’ roll stardom. Recorded in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London, the album fused the individual musical styles of each of the four insanely talented members into a totally original and powerful explosion of sound that turned listeners into fast-fans only wanting more. Uniting rock, blues, heavy metal and psychedelic sounds, the album was an instant hit among the counterculture scene both in the US and Europe.

Initially, reviews of the album were dismal at best, but over the years critics have changed their tune. In 2003 as well as in 2012, the album was ranked #29 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time," and furthermore, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004. 45 years after the album's initial release, it has remained relevant throughout several generations and is still widely regarded as a major turning point in the evolution of rock and heavy metal as we know it today.
