Why should imprisonment and a federal gun charge prevent you from releasing bumping rap anthems? It shouldn’t, of course (well, according to Gucci Mane, anyway). “Jackie Chan” is the latest single from Alabama-born rapper Gucci Mane; it’s a classic southern banger produced by Mane’s long-time friend and collaborator, Zaytoven. The majority of the track consists of Gucci comparing himself to Jackie Chan in the 1998 hit film, Rush Hour. Little time is left for Mane’s underling hip-hop trio Migos, who can be heard briefly and sporadically in versus throughout the song.
“Jackie Chan” is the first single to be released from Gucci Mane’s upcoming album, The State Vs. Radric Davis II: The Caged Bird Sings. It’s set for a Christmas day release, but can be pre-ordered via iTunes.
