Stephen Colbert rounded out his Christmas Carol Week last night with the Blind Boys of Alabama. It was also the final Colbert Report of 2013, as Colbert is going on vacation like most of the regularly televised TV programs do at this time of year.

The Blind Boys of Alabama are a dynamite gospel group. They really play a great version of "Go Tell It On The Mountain" here. Colbert is a great singer in his own right, but he sounds a little stiff here. This is definitely out of his comfort zone and there are moments when he sounds completely out of place. His vocal range just doesn't fit the song. He makes up for it with effort and positive attitude, but the Blind Boys really carry the song and it sounds really good all the same. That keyboard player is on fire!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
