Last night, CBS aired a tribute to The Beatles to mark the 50th anniversary of their first performance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Some of the music industry's biggest stars performed Beatles songs, including Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams and Imagine Dragons. One of the biggest highlights of the show was Dave Grohl's rendition of "Hey Bulldog" with Electric Light Orchestra's Jeff Lynne. Grohl and Lynne gave a heartfelt performance, singing in perfect harmony like Paul McCartney and John Lennon did in the original track. Dave Grohl does a great job mimicking what he calls, "that sound that only the back of John Lennon's throat could produce."

Grohl gave a touching speech before launching into the Yellow Submarine rocker. He said, “I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for the Beatles, I would not be a musician.” Dave Grohl has recently won a Grammy with fellow Nirvana alums Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear for their collaborative song with Paul McCartney for his documentary Sound City.
