U2 are back in their first official music video of newly recorded music in 5 years (not including the lyric video for "Ordinary Love" which was in conjunction with the movie Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom).

The song, "Invisible," was first released over Super Bowl weekend as a free download for one day on iTunes. Bank of America pledged to donate $1 for every download to RED, a charity organization fighting AIDS that lead singer Bono co-founded, and the band posted on their website that the total raised was $3,138,470. The video above was direced by Mark Romanek, and a shorter version was shown during the Super Bowl as a commercial to help promote the RED charity campaign.

The song itself is likely the first taste of U2's upcoming album produced with Danger Mouse. The band has been secretive about when the album will be released and what it will be called. It sounds unmistakably like U2, with Bono's voice front and center and The Edge providing an interesting variety of guitar and synth sounds. Drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. seems to be embracing the current wave of indie rock with some of his snare patterns.
