Radkey have just released this howling cover of Faith No More's "Digging The Grave," available for streaming above and free download at their official website.
The track is incredibly faithful to the original and requires a more versatile vocal style from singer Dee Radke. Rather than stick with his traditionally Danzig-esque crooning, he ventures into a ragged shout, adding a more raw edge to their usually polished sounds. Mike Patton's vocals are about as unique and diverse as they come, so a cover can be a difficult thing to execute, but these kids pull it off without reaching. Check out the track above.
The band told Revolver Mag:
“‘Digging the Grave’ is one of our favorite Faith No More songs. It rocks really hard so it pretty much called to us. We’ve been playing it for years, so we thought that now was the perfect time to record our version of it.”
