The Pixies have just shared this performance video of "What Goes Boom," a cut from last year's EP-1.

The track is a rip-roaring rock song and they pulled out all the stops for the show. The tempo is increased significantly and Black Francis strains his voice, belting out a harsher, more savage growl than the album version. The eerie backup vocals and backlit stage lend a sinister air to it, but it's just a balls-out Pixies rocker, culminating in Joey Santiago's fuzzy, furious shredding. Watch the performance above and check out the original music video here at Zumic.

Outside of saying "Live in the USA," the band didn't provide any information on where or when the concert was taped, but the presence of new bassist Paz Lenchantin tells us the show was likely recorded during their recently concluded US tour.
