Jay Electronica is a truly unique hip-hop artist. Late last night, the 37 year old from New Orleans released this track, "better in tune w the infinite," through the SoundCloud of producer Crack Tracks (aka Lawrence Parker). There is no description explaining the track, only the tag "Psalms" and cover art of alien spaceship from the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The music sample comes from the soundtrack to another movie, Babel, released in 2006. The song is "Bibo No Azora" meaning "Endless Flight" and features a melancholy piano and strings. There are two samples to begin the track, the first is an interview of Elijah Muhammad which has been published as History of the Nation of Islam. The second is taken from 1939 version of The Wizard of Oz, said by Professor Marvel who was played by actor Frank Morgan. This ends with the line "Now you better close your eyes, my child, for a moment, in order to be better in tune with the infinite."

Jay Electronica's rapping is powerful, taking on "a world full of hatred" with a high level of awareness. There are several religious references, straight from the bible, and the message of the song is spiritual in nature.

Even at 37 years old, Jay Electron still hasn't released an official album. His last full length mixtape was Act I: The Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) released in 2011.
