Atlanta-bred rappers Andre 3000 and Big Boi reunited as Outkast for what was the most anticipated performance of this year's Coachella Festival. The legendary hip-hop duo hasn't performed together in seven years and while simply seeing the group back on stage was a treat in and of itself, their opening night performance was met with quite a few mishaps.

The 90-minute set started off promisingly as the rap duo jumped right into "B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)" from their 2000 album, Stankonia. They went through hits from all of their albums including Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik (1994), ATLiens (1996), Aquemini (1998), and the double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003). As the show went on, however, there were numerous technical difficulties (the classic song "Ms. Jackson" was unexpectedly cut off half way through) and Andre even admits to losing his voice a little.

The artists also brought out a couple of special guests: Sleepy Brown was present which isn't surprising as he features on a number of Oukast's songs and Janelle Monae performed her own collaboration, "Tightrope" with Big Boi; the less-expected Atlanta-rapper Future also showed up to perform three of his own songs and promote his upcoming album, Honest. Killer Mike was also supposed to guest star but by the time he came out to perform "The Whole World," it appeared that the show had run over its allotted time. The show ended quite abruptly on a, in Andre 3000's words: "weird" note.

Despite an underwhelming first performance, the duo is certainly still hip-hop royalty and though they may be rusty after a seven-year hiatus, they do have the entire summer to clean up their act and win our hearts. Check out the full set above.

And on a brighter note, the real fans took to twitter to defend their always-legendary honor:
