Chromeo have just released a track called "Ezra's Interlude" off their forthcoming album, White Women. The track features none other than Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, who croons over a stripped down set of keys in the first half, before switching up into a high soprano while the bass kicks in in the latter half. It's definitely a departure from the funk-friendly sound Chromeo frequents, but this alluring and exquisite song that proves they can tackle the ballad-esque as well. The only critique is its short duration.
White Women is out May 12th on iTunes and Amazon. Find out more about Chromeo's music and news on their Zumic artist page.
Chromeo ft Ezra Koenig "Ezra's Interlude" Lyrics:
I don't wanna feel it for the second time
And I don't wanna call you up or wait for signs
I just can't pretend I'm gonna make you mine
I never wanna be the last to know
So I guess I'll just go back to laying lowNow I don't wanna feel it for the second time
And I don't wanna call you up or wait for signs
Now I just can't pretend I'm gonna make you mine
I never wanna be the last to know
So I guess I'll just go back to laying low
