The Black Keys joined Zane Lowe for an intimate recording session and interview for BBC Radio 1. Listen to the official full audio stream above, courtesy of the awesome folks at the BBC. According to the BBC's site, the session took place April 30th at BBC Maida Vale Studios, London.

Things start off with some funky sounds and witty banter. Then the band launches into a slower version of one of their new songs, "Fever." Between each song they do interview segments, and discuss things like how the recording and touring process happens for the guys these days, what the guys do away from The Black Keys, and not surprisingly we learn that Dan is a workaholic. Also of note, Danger Mouse is discussed as almost like a third member of the group.

Possibly the most important thing we learn from the interview is that Dan Auerbach hit a legendary basketball shot at Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles. Patrick points out that Dan's a great ball handler, which Dan responds by acknowledging that he's the ball guy but Patrick is the stick guy. Patrick gets the last word in the hilarious exchange, saying Dan is the mouth of the group. Really fucking funny. This is followed by another new song, "Turn Blue."

In pt. 3 of the interview, things stay on the dirty side. The band gets introduced, with John Wood on the keys and Dick Swift on the bass. Dan is playing a Custom Kraft guitar, which was a brand of a company called St Louis Music who built guitars for Kay, Harmony, and Supro / Valco. The group finishes up with a brand new song, "Bullet In The Brain," which you can hear separately on Zumic through a bootleg YouTube audio rip. We even wrote out the lyrics, so you can fully understand the beauty coming out of that golden throat of Mr. Auerbach.
