"Pills N Potions" is Nicki Minaj's first official single off of her upcoming third studio album, The Pink Print. This release follows the release of "Lookin' Ass Niggas," "Chiraq" featuring Lil Herb, and "Yasss Bish" featuring Soulja Boy. On "Pills N Potions," Minaj goes in a different direction. The 31-year-old rapper sings a smooth chorus and raps positively, a style that is similar to her 2010 hit, "Moment 4 Life."

The Young Money artist told Hot 97 last year that her third album would showcase her hip hop roots. "Pills N Potions" is decidedly more of a pop song than the other three singles, which were much more street oriented. While the single sounds more of the ilk of her previous album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, that doesn't mean it's not a quality record. The Dr. Luke produced love song evidences the versatility that Nicki Minaj has displayed consistently since breaking out in 2009.
