Quirky British pop singer Lily Allen took to Twitter yesterday to premier five unreleased demos from her newest album Sheezus. "I Don't Mind Babe," "I Was Born In The 80s," "Stop Right There (Rough Idea)," "Age of Beige," and "My Town" were all posted onto Allen's SoundCloud and you can listen to each one below.
"I Don't Mind Babe" - Lily Allen
"I Was Born In The 80s" - Lily Allen
"Stop Right There (Rough Idea)" - Lily Allen
"Age of Beige" - Lily Allen
"My Town" - Lily Allen
Each track features Allen softly singing over a pop beats. Of course it's Lily Allen so don't let that soft, sweet voice fool you. In the chorus of "I Was Born In The 80s" for example, she sings over a mellow reggae beat: "Sick of this / Sick of this / Go fuck your mom," and "Age of Beige" is an upbeat track about the banality of music. This Brit always does a brilliant job of disguising cynical lyrics with a cheerful, catchy beat and gentle vocals. These new songs certainly do not disappoint.
