Still reeling off the success of their 2012 Mercury Prize-winning album, An Awesome Wave, Leeds-based experimental rockers Alt-J have just released the second single off of their upcoming album, This is All Yours.

Coming out a month after “Hunger of the Pine,” "Left Hand Free" is a staunch, guitar-driven rocker that reveals a new direction for the band on their sophomore album. This tune features guitarist / singer Joe Newman's characteristic blend of esoteric lyrics and twanging guitars. Somewhat absent from this track is the collage of unusual effects and sounds, generally heard in their unique amalgam of acoustic and processed music.

The groove-centered track relies on a rock-heavy foundation. This is a new approach for the band, whose 2012 album depended predominantly on keyboards. That's not to say that the keys are entirely absent from "Left Hand Free." The band does manage to throw in a keyboard interlude after the bridge. The hard-rocking nature of the song properly lends itself to the prototypical sounds of summer. This cut is certainly upping the anticipation of the new LP's release this fall.

This Is All Yours will be out September 22nd on Infectious Music. You can pre-order it on iTunes and Amazon. You can also head over to their online store for exclusive bundles on CD and vinyl. For more music and tour related info, head over to their Zumic artist page.
