The War On Drugs stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman last night, giving us a treat of a live performance with "Red Eyes." It's the lead single from their third album, Lost in the Dream, released this past March, and you'll want to see this take whether you're familiar with the song or not.

The band's distinct sound is on full display, a perfect pool of contrasts. Frontman Adam Granduciel, radiating talent and maturity, evokes the talk-singing soft swagger of '70s Bob Dylan with his vocals, then pure, riveting rock and roll with his guitar solos. In the same way, the band's soft '80s-style synth curls around the band's core in drummer Patrick Berkery's intense beats. Put together, the performance rings of careful craftsmanship and powerful execution from a band that knows how to play live.

Listen to the entire Lost in the Dream and read a rundown of the album right here at Zumic. You can watch the quirky official music video for "Red Eyes" also at Zumic.
