I was a bit taken aback when I saw Shabazz Palaces on the list of bands included on the upcoming Animal Collective remix EP Monkey Been To Burn Town, but I should have known better than to doubt the likes of Ishmael Butler and Tendai 'Baba' Maraire. The song is broken down and re-imagined so well that it sounds like this would be an Animal Collective remix of Shabazz Palaces instead of the other way around. Monkey Been To Burn Town is out May 27 in Europe and May 28 in the U.S and also features remixes by Gang Gang Dance's Brian Degraw, Teengirl Fantasy and DJ Traxman.
