Denver indie folk band The Lumineers have shared an official music video for "Ophelia," the first new track from the group's upcoming second album, Cleopatra. Watch it above, via the band's YouTube.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, frontman Wesley Schultz talked about the song:

"Ophelia" is a vague reference to people falling in love with fame. That spotlight can seem like an endless buffet, but in reality, you’re just shiny, bright, and new to people for a quick moment — and then you have the rest of you life to live... It’s about caring so much about the people around me, and wondering if we’re all going to be alright.

According to NME, Wesley Schultz confessed how he had learned to dance while making the video for the song:

For the music video "Ophelia," our good friend Issac Ravishankara, who directed the "Stubborn Love" music video from our first record, brought us a treatment that involved me dancing in the streets while it was raining so I had to learn choreography for the first time in my life... I learned how to dance for this music video.

The band shared some information about the recording process in a press release:

With the help of producer Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Avett Brothers), the man Wesley calls 'our shaman,' the band ensconced themselves in Clubhouse, a recording studio high atop a hill in rural Rhinebeck, N.Y., not far from Woodstock.

"Ophelia" is a warm tune with a strong message, drawing energy with foot stomps, hand claps, and rolling keyboard notes combined with graceful piano playing. This is an original song, and shouldn't be confused with The Band's funky 1975 tune "Ophelia."

Cleopatra is scheduled for an April 8, 2016 release via Dualtone Records. This will be The Lumineers first release since their 2012 self-titled debut album. Pick it up on Amazon.

In addition, the band has announced dates for a world tour that will run from April through July in support of Cleopatra. For the latest music, news, and tour dates from The Lumineers, check out their Zumic artist page.
