"Pearl of a Girl" - Kristeen Young ft Dave Grohl & Pat Smear on Late Late Show 7.16.2014 [YouTube Video]

Alt-rock singer-songwriter Kristeen Young performed "Pearl of a Girl" last night on The Late Late Show, backed by the legendary Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters guitarist / Germs co-founder Pat Smear. Watch the full performance above.

Sporting her usual stylized eye makeup and some enormously puffy sleeves, Young sang and played her heart out, maintaining Cyndi Lauper-like vocals and stage presence. Young is no stranger to playing with big names, having also collaborated with David Bowie and Morrissey.

Last month, Young was scheduled to start touring as the opener for Morrissey in promoting his new album, but Moz suddenly canceled, claiming that Young passed on her illness to him. She denied that she was sick, instead confirming that she had allergies. Although he insisted that she left on her own, Young said she was asked to leave the tour.

The track is included on her latest album, The Knife Shift, produced by Tony Visconti featuring drums by Dave Grohl. Here's the album intro video:
