Hailing from Joplin, Missouri, indie rock group Never Shout Never have a new one-take music video for their song "Red Balloon." Watch above.

Never Shout Never started off as a one man band in 2007, after lead singer Christofer Drew gained attention from posting his acoustic music on Myspace. Since then, the band has progressed into a more mature, indie sound with the addition of bassist Taylor MacFee and drummer Hayden Kaiser. Recently, Christofer made a throwback to his DIY style with the music video for "Red Balloon." He discusses his intentions on Artistdirect:

'Red Balloon' was a cool song to write. It tells a story of self-realization and finally seeing the bigger picture after some tribulation. I’ve always been a fan of personifying inanimate objects. It was difficult deciding what kind of video would do the song justice. We went through a few video ideas before we came to this one. I enjoy this version because of the simplicity. One shot videos have always been my favorite type, along with animated. We shot this down in Austin, Texas on a day off from the tour we’re on. It only took a few hours to get it right. One shot vids are always an adventure because you have to get it right all in one take. Luckily this one was relatively easy.

Similar to Never Shout Never's earlier music, "Red Balloon" is cheerful and spirited with bright ukulele melodies, enthusiastic lyrics, and a catchy refrain. The simple, handmade music video featuring subtle motion animation suits the song perfectly.

"Red Balloon" is off of Never Shout Never's 2015 album, Black Cat. Pick it up on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
