The Killers new music video for "Rut" addresses the very real issues that so many people face who are haunted by childhood trauma.  It's also an uplifting video that shows the lows and highs of family life, with the repeated lyric, "Don't you give up on me." Watch it above, courtesy of the band's YouTube channel.

The story focuses on a woman, shifting between the past and present. Singer Brandon Flowers explained how the song relates to his wife in an interview with Newsweek, which may help to clarify the video's theme:

She has a complex version of [post-traumatic stress disorder] from her childhood, and it’s her speaking... It’s emotional and the only song I’ve had to sit down with her and play at the piano, just to make sure it was OK with her.
