The Flaming Lips have covered "Sad and Beautiful World" by Sparklehorse for The Last Box of Sparklers, a tribute album for Sparklehorse and Mark Linkous. This cover, wrapped in extra-terrestrial sounds is just as somber as the original.
The album is available by making a donation to Box of Stars, a Philadelphia non-profit that promotes mental health awareness through music. It features contributions from The Joy Formidable, Mark Lanegan, and Portugal, The Man.
