Florence + The Machine released the music video for their new single, "St. Jude." Watch above.

In the YouTube description, the band calls this "Chapter 2 of the How Big How Blue How Beautiful odyssey," following the music video for "What Kind of Man."

In a statement to Pitchfork, director Vincent Haycock said, "It’s obviously about relationships, but it’s also about Florence traveling through our version of the Divine Comedy... the first layer of Hell."

The video helps put the video for "What Kind of Man" better in context. Where the band's previous video focused on sin, "St. Jude" follows her into Limbo. There's dense symbolism in each scene, and the video can be dissected in a number of ways. Yet even without knowledge of 14th century Italian literature, the video is intensely beautiful. According to YouTube comments, it was shot in the village of Abala in the Yucatan region of Mexico.

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is available for pre-order on Amazon (Vinyl, CD)
