Today is a busy day for jamband veterans Tea Leaf Green. They've announced 2016 tour dates and the departure of longtime bassist Reed Mathis.
The new shows are scheduled to begin on October 6 in Maryland and wrap up on October 15 in New York. The band will primarily tour the East Coast, and the opening acts on select dates will be Keller Williams, Stop Light Observations, and Atlas Road Crew.
The band shared this official statement on their Facebook page about Reed's departure:
After nearly nine years and four genre-spanning albums, Tea Leaf Green and bassist Reed Mathis have decided to part creative ways.
Reed joined us at a pivotal period in the life of our band, and we are forever grateful to him for the integral role he filled in TLG and for the collaborator and friend he has become. Reed has a unique musical voice, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors, the latest of which are the visionary Electric Beethoven project and Golden Gate Wingmen. Check 'em out!
We look forward to the next chapter in our history and will commence this new phase with a run of East Coast shows in October. Joining us on this tour will be beloved Bay Area bassist Eric DiBerardino.
Leafers, thank you for your continued support throughout the evolution of the band. We can't wait to see you out there on the road!
