Brooklyn rap upstarts The Underachievers released a free, "Gimme Shelter" sampling single entitled "The Proclamation" today via Brainfeeder, Flying Lotus' ever impressive label, as both a digital download (which you can grab right here) and a YouTube stream, which you can watch below.

The duo, consisting of MCs Issa Dash and AK, has been extremely busy of late after signing with Brainfeeder in September of last year, releasing their debut mixtape Indigoism in February and prepping their Lex Luger-produced debut EP for an August release later this year. "The Proclamation" makes terrific use of the hazy, sauntering guitar line at the center of the Stones' classic track and melds pretty perfectly with The Underachievers' druggy but thoughtful tag-team delivery.

The Underachievers hail from the same Flatbush area of Brooklyn that has produced Joey Bada$$ and his Pro Era crew, as well as Flatbush Zombies, with whom The Underachievers and Rakim recently kicked off the NYC Summerstage concert series with quite a bang. Check out our review of the wild show right here.
