"1 Hopeful Rd." - Vintage Trouble [Official Full Album Stream + Zumic Review]

Vintage Trouble recently released their third album, 1 Hopeful Rd. Although the album kicks off with the blues-rock sounds of "Run Like The River," the album quickly meanders into a mediocre pop record with tracks like "From My Arms" and "Doin' What You Were Doin'."

The soft-rock / soul blend the band has conceived makes the band sound like a second-rate version of John Mayer, which isn't what you'd expect from a band that will be the opening act for AC/DC's Rock or Bust World Tour later this year.

On the bright side, the guitarist of Vintage Trouble, Nalle Colt, does shine on tracks such as "Run Like The River" and "Angel City, California." Vocalist Ty Taylor's performances are strong, but the songwriting too often sounds forced and uninspired on this album.

1 Hopeful Rd. is the type of LP that only works on occasion. While some of the blues-rock influenced tracks sizzle, the more pop oriented songs feel like a series of misfires.

You can pick up 1 Hopeful Rd. on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album above, using Spotify.
