The collaborative LP, Twelve Reasons To Die, between producer Adrian Younge and rap god Ghostface Killah is available for your streaming pleasure above, via Spotify.
The concept album tells the story of the 12 Delucas crime family and their betrayal of Ghostface, who then seeks revenge from the grave. The music is unbelievable, written by Younge and played by his band, Venice Dawn. The album is a return to a grimier Ghostface, the remarkable storyteller one who hasn't appeared since Fishscale and who hasn't bodied an entire record since Ironman. He also seems to have gone back to his solo roots with many of the tracks featuring guest appearances from fellow Wu-Tang members (when's the last time you heard a U-God verse?).
Twelve Reasons To Die sounds like a blaxpoitation score, feels like an underground mid 90's release and yet is still an incredibly fresh listen. The makings of a classic indeed.
