Wisconsin indie pop band PHOX have just released "1936" off their upcoming debut album. Stream the track above.
PHOX makes very cheerful, positive folk music and "1936" is no exception. The song radiates with a sunny disposition, with pleasant guitar strings and sweet raspy vocals from lead singer Monica Martin. "1936" follows "Slow Motion," which they released last month, and both songs proved that they've really nailed the chipper folk aesthetic in their music. They've recorded their album at Justin Vernon's April Base Studios in Wisconsin as well, so the wintery state should play a big part in it.
PHOX's self-titled debut album will be out June 24th, and you can preorder it now on iTunes or Amazon. The band will also be on tour this summer promoting the album, check out tour dates on their official website.
