The Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit (formerly Moogfest) in Asheville, NC has announced it's preliminary lineup, and it's pretty impressive: Trent Reznor will take the stage twice, once with Nine Inch Nails and again with How to Destroy Angels, as well as Animal Collective, Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Bassnectar, Chromatics, Pretty Lights, Zola Jesus, Rustie, Silver Apples, Bosnian Rainbows, Robert DeLong, Jacques Green, Disclosure and Gary Numan among others.

The biggest "get" for the festival is sort of strange to see on the lineup of an "Electronic Music Summit": the recently reunited Neutral Milk Hotel. Not only will the influential Athens, GA indie rockers be playing the fest, but leadman Jeff Mangum will be curating an evening that includes his band, Half Japanese and Daniel Johnston. Obviously, this is an impressive booking move by the fest, I'm just having visions of kids up to their eyeballs on Molly trying to dance to Daniel Johnston songs, and it's causing me to chuckle.
