John Paul Jones Discusses Working on Opera, Possible 2014 Led Zeppelin Reunion

Outside of an opening night party for Phillip Glass's new opera The Perfect American, John Paul Jones gave a quick impromptu interview to Red Carpet News TV. Check it out:

The Led Zeppelin bassist, who's a phenomenal musician and responsible for some great keyboard and mandolin parts on Led Zeppelin albums, shared some very interesting quotes, although Led Zeppelin fans are likely to be disappointed that he didn't seem too enthusiastic about a reunion with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Here are some excerpts:

On the Phillip Glass opera he had just seen:

It's wonderful. Some beautiful music. It looked fantastic. The singing was great. Had a good night out.

His thoughts about opera:

It's unlike anything else. It's the emotion, the passion... I'm writing an opera myself, so I have to say that. (laughs)

On his current opera project:

It's based on The Ghost Sonata by August Strindberg, and I'm halfway through the first act.

On other musical side-projects he's involved in:

I can do little gigs that I don't have to prepare too much for.

When asked about a Led Zeppelin reunion in 2014, now that Robert Plant has said he's up for it:

2014 is full of opera for me at the moment. (laughs and walks away)
