Experimental hip-hop group, Death Grips, failed to show to their scheduled Lollapalooza aftershow at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Friday August 2nd.

Fans who were anticipating Death Grips' arrival got wind of the news that they were not going to play and rage ensued. According to Twitter and Reddit, fans at the Bottom Lounge stormed the stage and trashed the bands' equipment. Below is a fan picture via Twitter of what NME reports to appear to be a piece of drummer Zach Hill's kit.

A representative from the Bottom Lounge posted the following statement on Facebook:

We are still getting bits and pieces of information but we were not aware that Death Grips was not coming until right before we made the announcement. Right now, we just want to thank all the people at the show last night who, despite being terribly disappointed that there would be no Death Grips show, were very understanding. Tickets are in the process of being refunded and people that bought tickets online will see their refunds on their statements shortly.

Pitchfork reported that Death Grips' music played throughout the PA system at The Bottom Lounge prior to the disappointing announcement that they were a no-show. There are reports that the stage set up featured a backdrop that had a screenshot of an alleged suicide note written by a Death Grips fan.
