Indie power couple Sky Ferreira and Zachary Cole Smith (of DIIV) were arrested early Saturday morning in Saugerties, NY, and charged with a slew of misdemeanors.
Police pulled over a truck driven by Smith "after the driver made several vehicle and traffic infractions," and a routine registration check "showed the license plates on the truck were stolen and the driver... was wanted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding vehicle and traffic warrant."
While taking Smith into custody, the police found $420 worth of heroin on his person, as well as some Ecstasy on Ferreira, the truck's sole passenger. Ferreira resisted arrest, which added to the already colorful list of charges against the pair, tallied for your convenience below.

Shortly following the arrests, musician Dev Hynes (who produced Ferreira's breakthrough hit "Everything is Embarrassing") tweeted some harsh words against heroin use. Though he mentioned neither Smith nor Ferreira by name, his timing seems linked to their arrests. Read those tweets below.
When I was younger heroin was seen as the devil. Something that kills and that genuinely is not "cool"

Now that I'm older and I've seen it kill friends of mine, one of which within the last few weeks, I hold the same opinion.
