Nearly a full decade after the band's last album release in 2003, The Power to Believe, the Progressive Rock pioneers are back at it again. King Crimson founder and frontman, Peter Fripp, updated his online diary on September 6th, writing, "So, King Crimson is in motion. This is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers." This may seem like a lofty endeavor for the band, considering Fripp's comments in an interview with the UK Financial Times just one year ago: "I couldn't concentrate on music. So I made the choice to give up my career as a musician and in the frontline to deal with the business." Despite these prior doubts, the reformation lineup is set and the London legends are once again ready to rock. Below check out their classic tune "21st Century Schizoid Man" from the band's first studio album, In the Court of Crimson King.

As reported by Fripp's label, Discipline Global Mobile, the front line will consist of Robert Fripp as lead vocalist and guitarist, Jakko Jakszyk on backing vocals and guitar, and the return of saxophonist Mel Collins, who has not played with Crimson since 1974. The back line will feature Tony Levin on bass, Gavin Harrison on drums, Bill Rieflin on drums, and Pat Mastelotto, yes, also on drums.

Due to prior and ongoing commitments of the band members, Fripp announced that touring will not begin for another year. There are, however, plans for rehearsal in the very near future.
