NIKE DUNK HIGH X MAYER HAWTHORNE
Until now, Mayer Hawthorne doesn’t have an official collaboration with any brand, but these customs made by the J Goods guys deserve to be on our list. Made specially for the soul singer, the mostly white sneakers feature a plaid striped heel and a khaki suede toebox. The final touch is Mayer Hawthorne’s name embroidered on the heels and the tweed screen printed box they came in. These are a limited edition of just 1 pair.
AIR JORDAN “LEGENDS OF THE SUMMER” PACK X JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
Teaming up with Jay Z, Justin Timberlake and the Jordan Brand created the special Air Jordan "Legends of the Summer" Pack, which is composed mostly by all-red models. Rocking a variety of Jordan models during the 2013 tour of the same name, JT made some extra noise with these red devils.
NIKE DUNK HIGH X DINOSAUR JR
Designed as a tribute to the ‘80s alternative band, these all-silver with purple lining colorway Nike Dunk Highs were released to celebrate the first album since the three members of Dinosaur Jr. reunited in 2005.
VANS X GORILLA BISCUITS
For the Spring / Summer 2011 collection, the skatewear brand Vans created these sick Sk8 High and Slip-on sneakers inspired by the punk rock band Gorilla Biscuits.
COMME DES GARCONS X SPRING COURT X THE BEATLES
As part of the collaboration between The Beatles and Comme des Garcons, these minimalist low tops were created with the sneaker brand Spring Court. The sneaker comes in a white canvas colorway, featuring both The Beatles and Apple Records logos on the upper.
NIKE DUNK HIGH X MARSHALL AMPS
Since the days of Jimi Hendrix, nearly 50 years ago, Marshall amplifier / speaker stacks have been iconic in both sound and look. Featuring a black, dark grey, gold, and red colorway, inspired by the amps colors, the swoosh company made an outstanding version of the Nike Dunk High. As with the amplifiers, these Nike Dunks are definitely for those who like heavy sounds.
Nike DUNK LOW X GIBSON
The Gibson vintage guitar cases are the inspiration for these Nike Dunk Lows. Although not an official collaboration between Nike and Gibson Guitars, these pink plush lining and brown leather upper Nike Dunk Lows are really something to remember. Plus, images of coins on the inner sole represent the money street buskers would get tossed in their guitar case.
NIKE AIR FORCE 1 X BUSY P
Best known for his association with artists like The Cool Cats and Daft Punk, the french DJ Busy P designed this colorful version of the Nike Air Force 1. Featuring a chalkboard-like upper and a rainbow midsole, these sneakers sold out really quickly in 2008 - exclusively through the Parisian store Colette.
Puma X YO! MTV RAPS
Each sneaker of this collaboration between the german brand Puma and Yo! MTV Raps has wild, attention-grabbing patterns, but the high-top First Round definitely stands out with YO! logo on the tongue.
NIKE RIVALS PACK X DJ AM AND DJ PREMIER
To represent DJ AM and DJ Premier, in 2010 Nike Sportswear presented “The Rivals Pack” featuring two pairs of sneakers and two serato discs. DJ Premier designed a black / forest green / blue leather color scheme Nike Air Force 1 to represent the East Coast. The Air Force 1 possesses his name on the heel in laser format. As for DJ AM, who died tragically of a cocaine overdose, Nike paid tribute with his favorite model: the Nike Dunk High. Featuring a black, red and grey colorway, the shoes also feature dots that look like the side pattern on a Technics 1200 - complete with reflection from the stylus lamp.
