Over the past few years, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas has become one of the biggest and most well-known concert festivals. Held annually at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the event brings a who’s who of the world’s biggest names in electronic dance music to Sin City for a weekend of raving.

The event has grown massively in popularity since 2011, Las Vegas' inaugural year as host city which saw 230,000 ravers descend upon the desert. In 2012 EDC grew by nearly 40% as the numbers hit over 320,000 in attendance. Last year, EDC crossed the 400,000 threshold, making it one of the largest festivals in the entire world. The festival figures to grow yet again this year even though no performers have been announced yet.

Just a few weeks ago, scheduling was announced as taking place on June 19-21. Since then, tickets have gone on sale and the "Early Owl" (EDC's take on "Early Bird") tickets are already sold out. While there are over 345,000 tickets for sale on the primary market, this was the same number of available tickets as last year, and all tickets sold out by concert day.

Tickets for this year’s concert have a face value of $349 for a 3-day GA ticket, and $699 for a 3-day VIP pass. For electronic dance music fans looking to attend the festival, rushing the box office while primary market tickets are available is most certainly advisable. Electric Daisy Carnival tickets are clearly in high demand, as secondary market ticket prices for each of the past two years have checked in significantly above face value for a completely sold out festival.

In 2013, Electric Daisy Carnival tickets sold for an average of $477.58 on the secondary market, with the least expensive 3-day pass selling for $225. Last year average ticket prices actually declined 3% from 2013 to $463.27, with the least expensive 3-day passes available sold for $400. This get-in price reflects a premium of roughly 78% over the prior year, a figure that truly shows how in demand tickets for Electric Daisy Carnival have become.

Given this unrelenting and ever-increasing demand, it naturally made sense for InsomniacEvents, Electric Daisy Carnival’s main promoter, to raise the primary market face value of this year’s festival from the $249 GA price of last year. With EDC tickets for the 2015 festival already beginning to hit the secondary market, we are noticing yet another price increase over years past as resellers are still looking to book similar profit margins to years passed despite the increased primary market price tag.

While there are only limited EDC tickets currently listed on the secondary market for 2015, they carry an average price tag of $593.20, with none available for less than $448. Although supply will increase as the festival draws nearer, it remains entirely possible that 2015 will continue EDC’s streak of rising attendance and price, cementing its burgeoning legacy as one of the most iconic concert events in the world.
