Fullerton, CA based Burger Records has announced the lineup for their second annual Burger A-Go-Go festival. Check it out in the poster below.

This year's headliners include Cat Power, Kathleen Hanna fronted The Julie Ruin, and Glitterbust, a combination of former Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon and RVCA surfer Alex Knost. Following up on 2014's inaugural show, headlined by the likes of Best Coast, Dum Dum Girls, and Bleached, the event will once again showcase only bands with strong female representation.

We reached out to Burger Records and asked why they decided to put on a female-heavy festival. They responded, "We did because no one else was doing one and because there's enough amazing female bands to warrant such an event."

The show's uniquely female lineup stands in staunch contrast to the majority of summer music festivals. In June, Fusion.net released lineup data for nine major American music festivals including such household names as Bonnaroo, Coachella, and Lollapalooza. They found that 75% of the festivals' bands are entirely male, while only 15% of bands have and least one woman and a mere 10% of festival invitees are fully female bands.

In addition to the headliners, Burger will showcase a few acts of their own, including Summer Twins, Peach Kelli Pop, and Bombon. Also performing will be Burger alums Cherry Glazerr.

When asked what fans should most look forward to at the event, Burger said, "People can expect straight up 100% A+ rock n roll fun!" With a lineup like this one, we'd be inclined to agree.

The show is scheduled for September 5th at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA.

Tickets are on sale now.
