After three months packing European Stadiums, hard rock legends AC/DC are ready to jumpstart the North American leg of their 2015 Rock Or Bust World Tour.

Their opening acts at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April were just the appetizers to leave fans wanting more before returning for 14 performances across the continent, where they will kick-off on August 22 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Will they fulfill fans’ expectations and break records like they just did in Europe?

AC/DC managed to outdo themselves, causing ecstatic responses from European fans all over. Most shows managed to sell out in a matter of hours, and these are stadium shows we’re talking about. For the concerts they played in Germany, the Australians sold out all available tickets in 77 minutes. The amount of seats sold in that period was greater than 300,000, which just goes to show the impact they can still have on music fans everywhere.

According to international reselling platform Ticketbis, world tours involving major acts have a significant positive effect on the international tourism sector. “Many of the tickets we’ve sold to AC/DC European shows were coming from places like Hong Kong or Brazil,” said the company’s CEO Ander Michelena. “A good amount of our clients travel thousands of miles just to see their idols perform live, and on other occasions, these events are added onto inclusive travel packages.”

For some fanatics, money was not at all an obstacle; people paid up to €1,000 on the resale market to attend AC/DC performances. Before 2015, there have been only a few opportunities for fans to see the group up close in famous venues such as Ferrari en Imola in Italy, Olympiastadion in Berlin, and Wembley in London.

And for the first time since 2009, fans will fill the biggest venues on the other side of the Atlantic to see AC/DC shred it out. Tickets for shows at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium and New York's MetLife Stadium are going for $138 and $158, respectively, on the secondary market. If their recent European shows were any indication, their U.S. dates will be absolutely rocking.
