The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a cultural institution beyond comparison.
Rodeo Houston, as it's commonly called, is celebrating its 87th year in 2019. The Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition started in 1931 and did its first big event in 1932. Over the decades, it has become a social phenomenon that goes far beyond just a livestock show and rodeo. Since its inception, the organization has given away over $400 million to scholarships, educational grants, and non-profits. The Rodeo Houston events start tomorrow — February 21 — with the 3-day annual Bar-B-Que contest. After that, the rodeos officially begin on Monday and run for exactly three weeks straight.
One of the biggest draws for the annual event is the top-flight musical talent, and this year is no different. Kacey Musgraves will be performing the first night of the rodeo on February 25, and George Strait will be closing things out with Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen on Sunday, March 17. In between, NRG Stadium will be hosting a who's who in the country genre including Brad Paisley, Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown Band, Tim McGraw, Luke Combs, Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Brooks & Dunn, Turnpike Troubadours, Old Dominion, and Cody Johnson.
In addition to the country artists, fans can catch rising pop superstars Camila Cabello and Cardi B. Rounding out an eclectic lineup are Latin artists Prince Royce and Los Tigres del Norte, rock acts Santana, Kings of Leon, and Panic! at the Disco, and electronic DJ / producer Zedd — who had a major crossover hit last year with "The Middle."
The official Rodeo Houston website has a full schedule of all events, and separate ticketing info for things like Grounds Passes, Bar-B-Que Contest, and Carnival Rides and Food. Tickets may be available on site, but buying online is always better than waiting on line. Check out our listings below, which include all the concerts and comparison shopping to make sure you can get the best seats at the best prices.

All rodeo and concert tickets include full general admission to the fairgrounds, which are open until midnight and features shopping, food, contests, and other special events, so attendees are encouraged to come early and stay late. Anyone with a general admission pass can enjoy music at The Hideout, featuring up-and-coming talent in a tent outside the stadium.
On weekday nights, the rodeos start at 6:45 pm, and on weekends the starting time is 3:45 pm — although there are a couple of weekend dates that start earlier or later so it is always a good idea to check individual listings. Each night, NRG Stadium will host approximately 2 hours of rodeo followed by a different headlining concert performance. Check the links above for more information and to buy tickets for individual events. All mobile tickets can be scanned with a bar code, and do not need to be printed on paper for admission. Keep in mind, details are subject to change. We recommend following Rodeo Houston and artists on social media to get the most up-to-date information.
