It's about time we see the rise of more female rappers. Young Money rapstress Nicki Minaj has been holding the torch for about 5 years now. This year, we see the emergence of up-and-coming Cleveland rapper Aphiniti.

You might have first heard of the Ohio lyricist on the Sway in the Morning show, when she dropped an thrilling, energetic, four-minute freestyle. If you came across her Sway appearance before her debut album A.O.A (Art of Aphiniti), you'll realize those off-the-top bars are just the tip of the iceberg as she shows her true songwriting skills on the studio project.

A.O.A (Art of Aphiniti) has the ability to appeal to different audiences as it contains pop, hip hop, and trap elements. Songs such as "2 Tha Moon," "Lights," and "Care Now" have strong mainstream appeal due to their peppy, energetic pop sound, while "WMC" and "Home Alone" pertain to urban crowds with their trap influenced style.

After a thorough listen of the project, you'll get a firm understanding of who Aphiniti is and the message she's delivering. "No Fear" and "The Mantra" are inspirational, anthemic songs, displaying messages of success, perseverance, strength, and courage. "The Chase" is one of the album's standout tracks, due to its hook. She addresses how easy East Coast rappers may have it in terms of traveling to record companies to get their music heard:

Def Jam wasn't on my block
Rocafella wasn't on my block
Bad Boy wasn't on my block
That's why the club go hard when they hear that drop
I'm on the chase

Listen above to one of hip hop's new talents as she draws and locks you in with her lyrical skills, vibrant, energetic style, and her open and honest lyrics.
