San Francisco born singer Ducky has released an enticing new single, "Air (Day Version)." In the first ten seconds the song pulls you in with warm pulsing beats, handclaps and a haunting synthy tune. The timing is spot on, each beat magically meshing with her confident wavy voice.
It seems that this NYU grad and New York vet is making strides this year. In the past year she has gone international with appearances at SXSW and in Paris, sharing stages with Fools Gold artists like Lil B, Danny Brown and Action Bronson. She is already a fan and critic favorite, as she should be. Ducky's voice is unaltered — wavering, yet unafraid. It has a personality all Ducky's own that somehow provides a sense of calm amid "Air's" anxious synth heartbeat. Can you say, Night Version please?
