Brace yourself. The video above might be the greatest collection of individual talent across multiple genres to ever come together for a television talkshow performance. Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Johnny Marr, Hans Zimmer, AraabMuzik, a string quartet, and backup singers performed "It's On Again" from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Kendrick starts things off with a tight verse full of the intensity and angst that he does so well. From there, Alicia Keys takes over on vocals, singing, rapping, and playing piano. The song has a similar feel to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," which makes sense because the studio version was produced by none other than Pharrell. Johnny Marr plays some gorgeous guitar, going from overdriven bite to shimmery arpeggios to creamy lead parts. Hans Zimmer appears to be doing the synth bass parts, and possibly triggering the electronic breakdown halfway through the song. The electronic breakdown is taken to the next level by an AraabMuzik MPC solo as everyone on stage is groovin'.
