Brooklyn's The Hold Steady performed a killer set at SXSW's Public Radio Rocks day showcase, including a brand new track slated to be released on their upcoming new record, Teeth Dreams.
"The Ambassador" - The Hold Steady Live at SXSW 2014:
They debuted "The Ambassador" for the Austin crowd, a chilled out, gloomy jam, with beautiful picked guitar parts and a swelling chorus. The track is yet another example of Craig Finn's signature storytelling style, fitting in nicely with the other new tracks we've heard from Teeth Dreams so far, "Spinners" and "I Hope This Whole Thing Didn't Frighten You."
The band followed it up with the more rockin' "The Weekenders," a cut from 2010's Heaven Is Whenever. It's an impassioned performance, and the thumping kick drum gets the crowd clapping along. Watch the videos above and below.
