Interpol continue to roll out new singles ahead of their 2014 album, El Pintor, due out in early September. Listen to "Ancient Ways" above, via the band's YouTube channel. The band has shared two songs previously: a music video for "All The Rage Back Home" and a live performance video of "Anywhere."
Paul Banks' vocals dig in straight from the opening line as he belts, "Fuck the ancient ways." It's an angry song, and the lyrics are matched by pounding drums, double-time bass, and loud noisy guitars. There are hints of Radiohead's angrier, more straight-ahead rock music, but this is most definitely an Interpol song.
