A little under a month ago, we gave you "Pearly Gates," a first taste from The Men's upcoming album Tomorrow's Hits. Now the Brooklyn band have shared a couple more tracks, the lively "Another Night" and the frantic "Different Days."
Boosted by horns that wouldn't sound out of place on Van Morrison's Moondance, "Another Night" rollicks with a mix of classic R&B and good time rock 'n roll. The lyrics center on a long-term relationship in the middle of a rough patch, with singer Mark Perro optimistically begging for another chance and/or night. When he sings, "I gotta believe in something, that's all I can do," the music's soulful urgency makes us believe him all the more.
"Different Days" is a bit more in line with The Men's punk past, with clean production and a keyboard being the only outliers. Together, this pair of tracks offer an exciting taste of what we can expect from Tomorrow's Hits.
You can buy both songs on Amazon. Keep track of The Men's latest output on their Zumic artist page.
