Banks stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge to lay down a flawless cover of an Aaliyah track. While covering the late songstress may seem like a daunting task to most, the young singer/songwriter delivered a beautiful stripped down rendition of the 1998 hit single "Are You That Somebody." Since the L.A. up and comer hit the scene in 2012, she's been blowing us away with her dark and sultry R&B tone which inevitably makes every cover she tackles, including this one, her own.

Trading in her usual bass-heavy hip-hop sound for an unplugged acoustic guitar, the singer's raw and smokey vocals dominate the track from start to finish. Banks provides a striking contrast to Timbaland's production of the original which included the beloved baby coo's and D-train samples. Instead, the singer's quivering vocals alongside scratchy, closed-string strumming, offer up a chilling interpretation that leaves us begging for more.
