After being forced to clear her tour schedule in June to undergo medical treatment, Aretha Franklin has announced the decision to continue to postpone shows until she's recovered fully.
She was scheduled to play in Michigan July 27th, a show that had originally been booked for June. The nature of her illness remains undisclosed, but the decision comes after a "miscalculation" of the end of her treatment.
"It would be totally disruptive to stop them now and go into concert with total success right at the door," Franklin said in an open letter to fans.
Publicist David Brokaw told Rueters, "Aretha fully intends to get back to her full schedule of work as soon as she can."
We wish the Queen of Soul a speedy recovery.
