Yesterday, Philadelphia's mayor Michael Nutter officially declared that August 28th in Philadelphia will now be recognized as "Kurt Vile Day." On that day this year, Nutter will present Vile with the most honorable award a native Philadelphian could receive for his or her's achievements - the Liberty Bell Award.

Following the ceremony, Vile's own label, Matador Records, states that he will close the city's City Hall Presents concert series, where Vile will play a free solo show at Philadelphia's City Hall Courtyard.

On the same day of this exciting news, Vile released a new music video for his track "KV Crimes," coming from his new record, Wakin On A Pretty Daze. The video has him wearing a big red robe and a shiny, golden crown, parading through the streets of Philadelphia as if he were their king, having citizens on both sides cheering him on and waving around big red "KV" (Kurt Vile) flags in all directions.

The video has Vile doing all things royal from handing out guitar picks to little girls to him and his entourage eating a smorgasbord of hoagie sandwiches. This is a defining moment in Kurt Vile's career, and we at Zumic congratulate him on his success.
